Jack Budge (pictured) gets a chance to claim his first title on April 27 when he fights for the Southern Area Featherweight crown at the Maidstone Leisure Centre.
Jack, who hails from High Halstow, is currently undefeated as a pro with four wins, and will take on Maidstone’s Chris Lawrence in an all-Kent affair for the belt.
Lawrence will enter the contest as the far more experienced fighter – with 10 wins from 12 contests – but Budge, 24, is confident of claiming victory.
“I’d be really pleased to win the Southern Area Title in only my fifth professional fight. It would open up doors and I’m in boxing to fight the best and win titles,” said Jack, who is being trained by former pro, Kerry Evans, in Wrexham.
“I know a bit about my opponent, we’ve sparred before in the past. He’ll be coming to win, and I look forward to sharing the ring with him.
“I’m expecting a good fight and am really looking forward to getting in the ring and doing what I do best!”
